Will it work with an SFP28 network adapter?

Not directly. QSFP28 and SFP28 are different connector form factors. The 25G SFP28 adapters in this range do not accept this cable.

Can the cable operate at 40G?

Ubiquiti lists 100 and 40 Gbps for the family. Both endpoints, firmware and negotiated link mode must support the chosen rate.

Does it split a 100G port into four 25G ports?

No breakout assembly is listed. This is a QSFP28-to-QSFP28 direct-attach cable, not a QSFP28-to-four-SFP28 cable.

What installation clearance is needed?

The 0.5 m variant has a 37 mm minimum bend radius. Check the connector bodies, routing and strain-relief space before ordering.
