Description for: Crucial T710 4TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD with Heatsink — CT4000T710SSD5

GEN5 STORAGE, WITH THERMAL HEADROOM

Room for large projects and a heatsink fitted from the start

T710 gives a compatible desktop a 4TB M.2 NVMe storage tier for demanding project files, games and local datasets. Explore our storage range and motherboards before choosing a slot. This exact CT4000T710SSD5 package has a pre-installed heatsink; it is not the low-profile non-heatsink variant.

Where this product makes sense

A larger local working set

Store project assets and datasets locally instead of continually moving them across slower links. An SSD does not expand GPU VRAM or by itself increase model context or inference throughput.

A platform-sensitive Gen5 upgrade

The interface is PCIe 5.0 x4. A compatible older PCIe NVMe slot can negotiate a slower link; a Gen4-only motherboard cannot deliver a Gen5 link rate.

Cooling included, airflow still needed

The factory heatsink avoids needing a separate motherboard cover for the same drive. Do not stack the motherboard heatsink on top; ensure clearance, correct retention and airflow around the fitted assembly.

Compatibility and limits

  • Use a PCIe/NVMe-capable M.2 2280 connector, with a Gen5 x4 path for full interface bandwidth. A SATA-only M.2 socket or 2.5-inch SATA bay is not a direct connection.
  • Check the installed heatsink envelope against GPU, motherboard M.2 covers and chassis parts. Thin laptop spaces and closed expansion compartments are not assumed compatible.
  • Do not remove or modify the pre-installed heatsink merely to force a fit. Follow Crucial installation instructions and any warranty restrictions.
  • PCIe generation, firmware, OS, queue depth, thermal conditions, cache state and free space affect real performance. Peak sequential ratings are not a guaranteed sustained large-write rate.
  • Use correct M.2 retention hardware. Initialise/partition the drive before use, or follow a supported cloning workflow for system migration.
  • Keep separate backups and monitor SMART health/endurance. The 2,400 TBW limit is an endurance condition, not a data-retention guarantee or data-recovery service.

What is included

One 4TB T710 M.2 NVMe SSD with its pre-installed heatsink and product documentation. It is one drive, not a two-drive bundle.

Not included: Motherboard, M.2 adapter/enclosure, system installation labour and separate backup storage are not included. No second bare SSD is included; comparison/lifestyle graphics are not bundle photographs.

Delivery and warranty

Dispatch within 24 hours. This is dispatch timing, not an arrival guarantee. Availability is not a reservation. Transit time depends on the destination.

The limited warranty runs for 5 years from the original purchase date or until 2,400 TBW is reached in the drive’s SMART data, whichever occurs first. Coverage is subject to applicable regional eligibility and manufacturer terms. Keep proof of purchase and the serial number, back up data before service, and contact Mineshop before returning a drive. Do not assume data recovery or loss-of-data compensation is included. Statutory customer rights are unaffected.

Six useful answers before ordering

Does this exact part include a heatsink?

Yes. CT4000T710SSD5 is the 4TB heatsink package, confirmed by the exact Crucial product title and the supplied configuration. It is not a bundle containing both a bare and a heatsink drive.

Can I install it in a SATA M.2 slot?

No. It needs an M.2 socket that supports PCIe NVMe drives. Physical M.2 size alone does not establish electrical compatibility.

Will it work on a PCIe 4.0 motherboard?

A compatible PCIe NVMe connector may negotiate a backward-compatible link, limited by that slot. It cannot achieve Gen5 interface bandwidth on a Gen4-only path; verify the board support list and heatsink clearance.

Should I add the motherboard heatsink on top?

No. This variant has its own heatsink. Do not stack covers or force the assembly into a space that was designed for a bare module; check clearances and follow installation instructions.

Will large datasets or games always load faster?

No fixed workload improvement is guaranteed. Storage helps only where the original bottleneck is the drive; CPU/GPU work, networking, file sizes, cache state and thermal conditions also affect results.

How does the 5-year warranty relate to 2,400 TBW?

Coverage ends at the earlier of 5 years from original purchase or 2,400 TBW measured in SMART, subject to the applicable terms. Keep your invoice and backups; TBW is not a promise of data-recovery cover.
