The Hammer Miner BC08 (also written Hammer BC 08) is a compact 12 TH/s SHA-256 ASIC miner for Bitcoin (BTC), built for home and office mining. Eight BM1370 chips run from a simple 12 V supply at 210 W (ASIC) and are cooled by a closed-loop liquid cooler with a dual-fan radiator, so the unit stays at around 40 dB. Does the BC08 need an external cooling setup?

No. The liquid cooler is a closed loop – a cold plate on the chips plus a dual-fan radiator – so there are no hoses, coolant or cooling units to buy. Give it room to breathe and keep the room temperature between 0 and 35 °C.

How much electricity does it use?

Hammer Miner specifies 210 W (ASIC only), which is 0.21 kWh per hour, about 5 kWh per day and ~151 kWh per month. Power measured at the wall is somewhat higher than the ASIC figure.

How do I set it up?

Connect the power adapter and network, open the miner’s web dashboard as described in the Hammer Miner quick-start guide, enter your pool address and your wallet address as the username, save, and restart. Live hashrate then appears on the device screen.
